Pumpkin spice gets plenty of attention this time of year, but Autumn Leaves has long been our favorite way to welcome the season. Its naturally rich notes of squash, pumpkin and Yunnan black tea shine in this creamy horchata, finished with a maple cinnamon sugar rim for the perfect touch of fall. Whether you're easing into a cool morning or taking an afternoon break, this refreshing drink is made to satisfy. Developed by Karlee Flores of Olive & Artisan.

Autumn Leaves Horchata

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried rice
  • 2 sachets of Autumn Leaves
  • 3 cups hot water
  • 1 8-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups whole milk

For the Maple Cinnamon Rim

  • ¼ cup real maple syrup
  • ¼ sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, add the rice, the tea from two sachets of Autumn Leaves, and hot water. Mix and set out for 3 hours or overnight.
  2. Place the rice mixture into a blender and blend on high for about 5 minutes until everything is mixed well and creamy.
  3. Pour through a sieve to remove any large bits. Add the sweetened condensed milk and whole milk and whisk together evenly. Place in a pitcher and into the fridge.
  4. To serve, dip the rim of your glass into maple syrup and then into the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Add ice and pour the Autumn Leaves Horchata. Enjoy!
